     Magical entertainment is a timeless human endeavor. Illustrated in this series are six conjuring presentations occuring at different historical periods. Every individual shown - performer and spectator alike - participates in the experience of the "moment of magic" in his or her own particular manner.. each from his or her own perspective.

     The performers in these tableaux do not characterize actual magicians of the past, rather, they personify all magicians from their respective eras.

     Each tableau includes, integrated with the subject matter, the following: an animal, the representation of a mythical or fabled being, and a symbolic reference (either literal or oblique) to each of the Four Mystical Elements: Fire, Earth, Water and Air.

     Four of the six tableaux depict historically correct magical props. The first in the series, COMMAND PERFORMANCE, neccessitates speculation and artistic license due to incomplete documentation of actual conjuring feats performed in ancient times. The final installment, SPECTACULAR ILLUSIONS, portrays a contemporary interpretation of a classic effect on an otherwise minimalistic stage setting.
